What is Business Coaching?

Business coaching, also called organizational coaching, is a process used to take a small business or organization from where it is now to where the owner wants it to be. A business coach will assist and guide the client in growing their business by helping clarify the vision of their business and how it fits in with their personal goals, values and priorities.

These days it is highly common that people transition between different companies and changing careers multiple times throughout their time in the work force. Changes are part of life and can open up great opportunities, as well as, at times, be a cause for friction and stress. Business or organizational coaching looks at aligning the career or business, of the individual with his/her goals, life purpose, and values to create meaning, enjoyment and success as defined by the individual.

Business Coaching Session Structure, Time & Investment

Time Commitment

Business and organizational coaching is a process of continual change and growth, and although it can happen quickly, sometimes that change can take some time to achieve. It can take time for new systems and practices to gain hold and find their momentum.

This is why LifeCoachMTL asks for a minimum of a three month commitment of between two to four 60 minute sessions each month, either in person or over phone/Skype. The frequency and duration of business coaching meetings are flexible depending on your needs and preference.

In between sessions, the client will be given ‘assignments’ (co-created between the business coach and client) to work on, and it’s important to know that time and willingness to take action is key in order to successfully move towards the defined goals.

Discovery Session

The first meeting will be 90 minutes in order to complete the discovery portion and to kick-start the relationship. This initial session is key, and an intake/discovery form will be sent to the client, to complete a few days before the meeting. The discovery meeting covers some of the big points such as the expectations, goals of business coaching, and sets the tone moving forward.

Investment

Cost is dependent on duration and frequency of meetings.

The initial Discovery session is around 90 mins and a one time cost. The following coaching sessions’ are as per agreement, usually 60 mins. Face-to-face, or phone/Skype, meetings as well as email support in between meetings, are included.
